A peer review team of Higher education Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) Council, University Grants Commission (UGC) Nepal has conducted a virtual assessment of the School of Health and Allied Sciences, Pokhara University from November 25, 2020 to November 27, 2020 for its QAA certification. The team was led by Prof. Dr. Shiba Kumar Rai. The seven-membered Team was as follows:
During the assessment, the peer review team had conducted separate interaction sessions with the University authorities, School authorities, RMC, IQAC and SAT teams of the school, faculties, non-teaching Staff, students as well as alumni. Prof. Dr. Prem Narayan Aryal, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Bishnu Raj Tiwari, Officiating Registrar, and Dr. Khem Raj Joshi, former Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, were among the dignitaries, who represented the University in the interaction program. Dr. Damaru Prasad Paneru (former Director of the school), Dr. Arun Kumar Koirala, Dr. Niranjana Shrestha, Dr. Hari Prasad Kaphle, Mr. Chiranjivi Adhikari, Mr. Atis Kaundinnyayana, Mr. Bijay Subedi, Mr. Nim Bahadur Dangi (SAT coordinator), Mr. Hom Bahadur Thapa and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Yadav (Coordinator, Students Quality Circle) led the school teams in different interaction sessions. Mr. Manoj Sigdel, a lecturer at Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara represented the alumni during the interaction session.
After the interaction sessions, the peer review team had a virtual visit to the different units of the school. At the end of the virtual assessment, the peer review team shared the peer review report with the school. Now, the school is waiting for the UGC QAA council’s decision regarding the QAA certification.
